Controversial poet, music critic and dramatist Amiri Baraka—also known as LeRoi Jones—offered “Reflections on the Struggle: Poetry, Politics, Words, and Wisdom” in the Villard Room. Advising revolution-minded students, he told the audience that “you can’t change anything by being angry. If you political types want to pull together an organization you should [center it around] study and activism.”
